This vitamin which is found in the seeds of apricots is the increasingly popular alternative cure for cancer, but experts warn of its toxicity and the dangers of consuming it.
Alternative methods of treating cancer often are the last straw of hope for chronic cancer, especially at those species with a very low rate of treatment or survival.
Therefore, there are different miraculous methods that are very popular. One of them is the treatment of cancer with vitamin B17, also called amygdalin.
This vitamin was first discovered in the bitter almond, and later in the seeds of apricots thanks to the chemist Ernst T. Krebs.
Vitamin B17 consists of one molecule of benzaldehyde (benzaldehyde), a molecule hidrocijanid (HCN – hydrogen cyanide) and two molecules of glucose (sugar). Benzaldehyde and cyanide are toxic elements and promoters of this method of cancer treatment claim these toxic elements are focused only on cancer cells. But scientists warn that cyanide in that drug can kill the patient before it dies from the cancer, “the Daily Mail”.
“Taking cyanide from apricot seeds result in very serious side effects, such as numbness of the fingers and loss of sense of touch, and in the worst case death if the toxin in concentrated in the body,” says in the warning by the British Standards Agency on food and medicine.
Most websites that sell these seeds recommend consuming 10 to 12 of them a day to help stop the spread of the tumor, which is half the dose which is found to be lethal to a healthy person. In patients treated with chemotherapy and weakened immunity, even the dose can be fatal.
